Imagine if you could view the contents of a file without having to open it? A great time saver, especially when you are searching for something and have lots of files to search through! It's happened to all of us at sometime or the other and one is left frustrated at the number of files you have to open to get what you need.
Quick Look, a preview feature by Apple helps you to do just that. It helps one to preview a file at 100% size or any custom size as depending on the size of the document as compared to that of the desktop. You can browse through multiple PDFs, watch videos on full-screen mode, view slide shows and do much more with just a single click.
No need to open files anymore
When you're browsing through lots of files looking for a particular one, you don't have to open each one of them. By using Quick Look, you can view each file, even multiple-page documents, without opening them. This can be done by selecting a file and pressing the Space bar. A transparent window will reveal the contents immediately.
Look back in time
You can use Quick Look when you are looking for files that need to be restored in the Mac's Time Machine software. Quick Look can be used to verify the contents of the file before restoring it.
Check attachments with ease
On receiving a mail with lots of attachments, instead of downloading and opening every single one, Quick Look will help you to look at the contents of each attachment. You can easily access Microsoft Office files, PDF files, photos and other files.
See everything
Quick Look works for almost all files types on the system. This includes text files, images, PDF documents, movies, e-mail attachments as well as Microsoft files like Word and Excel. To view a file in Quick look, you just need to tap Space bar or click the Quick Look icon in the Finder window. Then by clicking on the arrow icon, the same file can be viewed full screen. This is possible even for video files as they play. To open the file, you just need to double-click the window and it launches the application that created the file.
Quick Look is a great tool to view the contents of any document without having to open it and ultimately saves you a lot of precious time.
